Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's is a common form of dementia, a loss of cognitive ability. It plays an important role in Hardaway's HOSA chapter. They have an anual speaker(a representative of the Alzheimer's Association) that explains the symptoms and difficulties of living with Alzheimer's, as well as what people could do to help. A walk to raise money for the care of Alzheimer's patients proceeds the speaker.

Hearing and Vision Screening

Hearing and Vision Screening

HOSA does the hearing and vision screening for Hardaway. It allows the students to utilize their medical training, while taking records to ensure that other students will be able to function properly in their learning environment. The HOSA students must be able to identfy signs and symptoms of vision problems and decide if the other students need diagnostic examinations. The teachers must then determine pass or fail.
